ASSESSORS MEETING MINUTES

OCTOBER 29, 2009

7:00P.M.          Called meeting to order. Present: Paula B. Keefe, Ellen W. Abelson, Richard B. Gorden and Mark J. Mazur.

1.   The Board read a notice from the Appellate Tax Board (ATB) notifying us

      that an appeal had been dismissed for late payment of taxes.

2.   The Board signed a Statement of Entry into Tax Deferral and Recovery

      Agreement for a new clause 41A deferral.

7:15P.M.          The Board met with Finance Director William Fowler

                        and Town Manager Ben Puritz. Mr. Puritz and Mr. Fowler

                        explained the nature of their discussions with the Islamic

Center of New England (ICNE) regarding the status of

their property.

7:30P.M.          The Board concluded their meeting with Mr. Fowler and

                        Mr. Puritz and met with three representatives of ICNE:

                        Bodani Dweik, Treasurer, Jehad Shehadeh, Vice President

                        and Siraj Ahmed, Esq., an attorney representing ICNE.

      The representatives of ICNE presented a time line for events related

      to the tax status of the property. They also presented arguments in support

      of their contention, that the property in question should have been

      considered tax exempt for the fiscal years 2009 and 2010.

8:25P.M.          The Board ended their meeting with the representatives

                        of ICNE.

3.   The Board took the following actions on fiscal year 2010 applications for

      exemption for the owners of the following properties:

      online ethics training.
